Jonhatan Salas Avilés, alleged leader of escorts of Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada, was arrested by a special group of the Mexican army in an operation in the receivership of Quila, in the municipality of Culiacán.
The commander of the Third Military Region, Moises Melo Garcia, confirmed in an interview that the arrest of the suspect occurred early on Saturday February 9.
Revealed that Salas Aviles, who controls a group of suspected members of organized crime and alleged informant called “hawks”, was transferred to Mexico City, where it was available to the Attorney General’s Office (PGR).
The military chief announced that the coordinated action of the panel, both by land and by air, secured three firearms, a vehicle and a building with drugs.
